The Pilgrims' League Two trip to Macclesfield frozen off
PLYMOUTH Argyle's players and the Green Army have a free weekend after today's scheduled League Two clash at Macclesfield was called off due to the freezing weather.
The Moss Rose pitch failed an 11am inspection yesterday, so both Argyle and hosts Macclesfield will have to play on Tuesday, February 28.
Much of the Moss Rose pitch was still frozen and although marginally warmer weather is forecast, there were safety concerns around the snow and ice on the terraces.
The postponement is the second in a row for struggling Macclesfield after their game at bottom-placed Northampton fell foul of the bad weather last Saturday.
PLYMOUTH Albion's Championship match at Bedford Blues today is under threat for a second time because of freezing conditions. A pitch inspection at Goldington Road was being held this morning to decide if the game – called off last week because of a frozen pitch – will go ahead.

“Well others might think that there were other reasons why Macclesfield would not mind if the match was postponed...if you think that then consider the appalling events at Ipswich...looking forward to the match being played at a later date...TAG”

“It is satisfying to know that this match has been postponed. There have been too many instances where fans and teams have travelled long distances, only for a game to be called off at the last minute. I seem to remember that there was a game between Argyle and Carlisle which was to be played over the Christmas period many years ago. Carlisle travelled all the way down, and then lo and behold, match postponed. Now the players will be well rested and prepared for the important game on Tuesday, weather permitting!”
