Pirates swoop for defender Sawyer
FORMER Exeter City defender Gary Sawyer has signed for Bristol Rovers on a two-year contract.
The 24-year-old, who had a spell on loan at Bristol City last season, was out of contract at Plymouth Argyle.
Rovers manager Paul Trollope said: "Gary is a fantastic signing for the football club.
"We beat off a number of other clubs to secure his signature and it took a while, because of that interest and the quality of the player involved."
Striker Gavin Tomlin has signed for Dagenham & Redbridge in a three-year deal following two seasons at Yeovil Town.
Tomlin began his career at Brentford, before moving to non-league Fisher Athletic where he played under Daggers assistant manager Wayne Burnett.
Huddersfield Town have completed the signing of Derby County winger Lee Croft on a six-month loan deal.
The 25-year-old moves to the Galpharm Stadium until 3 January 2011.
Brighton have completed a triple swoop with the signing of Scunthorpe's Matt Sparrow and two Argentine midfielders.
Central midfielder Agustin Battipiedi, 20, and left-sided midfielder Cristian Baz, 23, have joined from Argentine third division side Comunicaciones.
Swindon Town have completed the signing of Michael Rose on a free transfer from Stockport County.
The 27-year-old left-back has signed an initial two-year deal with the option of a third year.
He made 123 appearances for Stockport but spent the second half of last season on loan at Norwich, helping them to the League One title.
The Robins have rejected a bid from Brighton for club captain Gordon Greer.
Full-back Brian Wilson has agreed to join Colchester United after being released by Bristol City. The U's have also signed Barrow midfielder Andy Bond.
