Plan for 95 new homes on site of former sports club
Plans to build 95 new homes on the site of the former Civil Service Sports Club in Plymouth have been submitted to Plymouth City Council.
Redrow Homes, which bought the land when the club closed in 2007, wants to build new homes along with new access roads from Ham Drive and Recreation Road.

The developer also wants to create two sports pitches, changing facilities and car parking on the site.
The 80-year-old former sports club in Beacon Park was closed at the end of September 2007 after making estimated annual losses of £100,000.

Previous proposals for the site have included anything from 40 to 150 homes.
In an unrelated plan, the former Mayflower Sports Centre could also be turned into a sports pitch.
The centre was demolished as part of the Life Centre building project in Central Park.
Plans have now been submitted to 're-profile' the land and form a flat space to be used as a junior sports pitch.
The plan has been drawn up by the city council.
