PLYMOUTH Albion coach Nat Saumi is hoping his team can upset the odds and bring down high-flying Bedford at Goldington Road tomorrow (3pm).

Albion, whose place in the relegation play-offs was confirmed last weekend with a narrow 9-3 defeat at Moseley, head to third-placed Bedford still looking for their first away win of the season.

Bedford have won their last five home games and Goldington Road has never been a particularly happy hunting ground for Albion, who have only won twice at the sloping venue.

But Saumi (above) has his eyes on victory tomorrow as his team start preparing for the play-offs.

"I have told the boys we always go for wins," said Saumi.

"Wins will help us at the start of the play-offs.

"But it will be tough going there.

"They lost last week at Leeds, so back at home they will want to put things right.

"I think at the back of their minds they will be thinking of us as an easy meeting for them.

"But we want to make it tough for them and try and get that win. We are going in without any pressure, but we still want to win."

Saumi knows it is important for his team to not only pick up wins, which are converted into points for the play-offs, but also to try and finish either ninth or 10th so that they get the best draw in the play-offs.

"The top two teams (in the bottom four) get the best sequence of games (in the play-offs), so that's why we need as many points as we can."

Saumi admits the play-offs are at the front of his mind with only three regular league games to go.

"Part of me is already looking forward to the play-offs," he said.

"I've got to start preparing.

"In these three games coming up it is important for me and the team to try and build confidence in the way we want to play, so that come play-off time we are ready and know what we have to do on the pitch."

Saumi was frustrated last week as his team lost 9-3 in poor conditions at Moseley. He just hopes his team iron things out now before the play-offs start.

"We have got some basic, technical stuff we know we have to put right," he said.

"We have to erase some things from our system, so that come the play-offs we are on a roll."
