A PLYMOUTH Argyle XI drew 0-0 against Saltash United in a friendly at Kimberley Stadium tonight.

Manager John Sheridan made the short trip across the River Tamar to see the match and assess his squad players.

The Pilgrims included nine professionals in their starting line-up with Robbie Williams and Paul Wotton among them.

Striker Matt Lecointe hit the crossbar with a header as Argyle created some good early chances but an opening goal proved elusive.

Saltash defended solidly after that and restricted the Pilgrims to only a couple of opportunities in the second half.

Substitute Kieran Asumadu-Sakyi fired over the bar from a good position in the closing stages as the game ended goal-less.
