He does not expect to be able to do that before Argyle's away game against Southend United at Roots Hall tomorrow.

"There are one or two others I'm looking at. Hopefully, I can bring in another player for this final push."

Centre-back Anthony Charles is set to be included in the Argyle squad for the game against Paul Sturrock's Southend.

Charles has missed the last two matches because of a groin injury he suffered in the 2-1 defeat at Gillingham.

“Agreed with some of the comments, McDonald was a fine player, but not a goalscorer. Best 3 strikers currently unattached on the PFA website are Adam Boyd, Guy Madjo and..... Chris Zebroski. Or alternatively Darius Vassell, who's not actually as old as you'd imagine.”

“Spot on Trots, Macca was a tryer and enthusiastic but not a prolific goal scorer that we need.

He's now at Burton and think he has only a scored one goal for them so clearly not what we desperately need.

After tomorrow it's 7 games left so hurry up JS get someone in and send Reid back”

“Macdonald was not and is not the answer to our problem. Dedicated and hardworking he is bit goalscorer he is not. He's not what we need. We need a known goal scorer and not someone who stands 5 foot 5 inches tall”

“You had the chance of Macdonald Mr Sheridan, a Striker that has already worked with Argyle and was prepared to come to Plymouth. Good result on Saturday but what a soft goal for them again!!
