No Plymouth Argyle offer for Ashley Hemmings
FOOTBALL: Argyle manager Carl Fletcher has confirmed he decided not to offer a deal to winger Ashley Hemmings to stay at Home Park.
Hemmings, 21, spent the final five months of last season on loan to the Pilgrims from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He made 18 starts and five substitute appearances and scored two goals, including a last-gasp winner in the 3-2 victory over Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium on Boxing Day.
But Fletcher opted not to try to keep Hemmings at Home Park after he was released by Wolves at the start of the close season.

Instead, the winger has signed a two-year contract with League One outfit Walsall.
Fletcher told Herald Sport: "There are a lot of things you have to weigh up with any player that we might be able to get.
"We look at everything from finances, personality, what they bring to the team and the changing room, and how they are in training.
"There is a long list and we weigh up everything. You have to make that judgment as you see will best benefit the club."
Walsall manager Dean Smith admitted he had tracked the form of Hemmings during his loan spell at Argyle before deciding to snap him up.
"I'm delighted to have Ashley on board," said Smith. "He's an exciting talent who I watched many times for Wolves reserves.
"I also had him watched three or four times whilst he was on loan at Plymouth and I think that run of games has really helped his development.
"He's a very promising youngster who will continue to develop and grow."
Meanwhile, Fletcher has no plans to make a move for former Argyle loan signing Juvhel Tsoumou, who has had his contract at Preston North End cancelled by mutual consent.
Tsoumou was transfer-listed by the League One outfit in May, but there were no takers for the 21-year-old.
That led to his contract at Preston being cancelled, with 12 months still remaining on it.
Tsoumou ended last season on loan to Argyle, making four starts and seven substitute appearances.
He netted twice, including a crucial goal in a 1-0 win against Bradford City at Home Park.
Tsoumou signed for Preston last summer from German club Alemmania Aachen.

“Just as well seeing as hemmings publicly stated that he won't be coming back and has signed for Wallsall....”
