Plymouth Argyle set to extend the loan spell of Crystal Palace's Jason Banton
CRYSTAL Palace have given the go-ahead for Plymouth Argyle to extend the stay of on-loan winger Jason Banton.
The 21-year-old has scored three goals in five games for the Pilgrims, including in the 1-1 draw away to AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday.
Banton had to be substituted in the first half of that match because of a thigh injury.
But Argyle manager John Sheridan is hopeful the winger will be fit for the visit of relegation rivals Barnet to Home Park on Saturday.

Banton's initial one-month loan to the bottom-of-the-table Pilgrims ends after that game.
Sheridan told Herald Sport today: "Jason is very happy here and Palace have agreed to let him stay.
"I have spoken to Jason and, hopefully, everything will go to plan and we will get him for longer."
Palace's former Argyle manager Ian Holloway has been pleased with the way Banton has settled at the Home Park club.
Holloway said: "Jason is doing well at Plymouth and is an example of what a loan spell can do for a youngster."
Meanwhile, Sheridan confirmed the loan spell of Yeovil Town striker Reuben Reid would be extended for a second month.
Reid's initial one-month agreement came to an end after the draw against Wimbledon.

“cleargreen - I care too!!!
Ollie has shown he still has a care for the club by allowing Jason to stay. Even if he was desperate to recall him I still think he would allow him to stay to help fight our cause. Thanks Ollie.
We need him fit for Saturday thats for sure to add some sparkle and pace into what is otherwise a drab forward line and mediocre midfield.
Sadly I cannot say the same about Reid. From what I have seen of him he doesn't know where the goal is which lets face it is the one thing we really need now - not someone who can hold the ball up.
See you on Saturday and lets hope for a bumper crowd to help us get those much needed 3 points.

“I care!!Good news about Banton, pointless extension for Reid. Who needs another striker that doesn't score goals? Can't see any value in keeping him, Murray or Ugwu. I'd rather use Harvey, Lecointe and Vassell, all of whom are playing for their futures at our club. They won't be any less productive than the other three. I hate the loan system and think it should be scrapped, but whilst it's there I guess we have to play the game. Although how they can abuse it when it is supposed to be for emergencies outside the transfer window beats me. If you lose a goalkeeper I guess that's an emergency as it is a farce to play without one but there is nothing emergency about the other signings. Come on FA and Football League sort that out!”
