LEFT-BACK Scott Griffiths has today signed for Plymouth Argyle on a one-month loan from Championship club Peterborough United, writes Chris Errington.

The 26-year-old is set to make his debut for the Pilgrims against Aldershot Town in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy second round at Home Park tonight (7pm).

Manager Carl Fletcher made his move for 5ft 7in Griffiths after seeing his squad depleted by injuries, a suspension and an international call-up.

Griffiths, who has not played any first team football this season, had three separate loan spells last term - at Crawley Town, Chesterfield and Rotherham United.

Duting his time at Crawley, he played for them in a 2-0 home win against Argyle in League Two in October 2011.

Griffiths signed for Peterborough from Dagenham and Redbridge in January 2010 after an earlier loan spell with them, but has played only 11 times for Posh.

Argyle will be without Maxime Blanchard (concussion) and Robbie Williams (stomach) tonight because of injuries.

Captain Darren Purse is also serving a one-match suspension, leaving Fletcher with only three other defenders available for selection - Durrell Berry, Curtis Nelson and Jamie Richards.

Richards, 18, has not played in a competitive match for the Pilgims.

Griffiths' loan to Argyle from Peterborough takes him up to, and including, the home game against Burton Albion on Tuesday, November 6, and he is eligible for all cup competitions.

“Cooperwoman and Greensensless sound like one and the same to me..... She's starting to grow on me actually, in fact I have a soft spot for her..... a bog on the moors...

5ft7in sounds a wee bit on the short side to me but seeing as CF was strugling to get anyone I suppose he'll have to do

It'll be interesting what sort of team the shots send down, if they have no injuries thwy will probably play the 1st team, I can't really see that a side like them would have a surplus... Let's hope we can do a number on them and inside the 90”
