Plymouth Bike Night cancelled due to severe weather warning
A warning of severe rains and potential localised flooding has meant organisers of the Plymouth Bike Night have once again had to cancel an event.
The Bike Night was meant to take place on Plymouth Hoe on Thursday evening. However, the Met Office has issued a warning that heavy rains are likely to fall in the South West for a 36 hour period, starting Thursday evening.
“This month's Plymouth Bike Night and the last of the 2012 season scheduled for this Thursday evening on the Hoe Promenade has been cancelled on due to the pending weather conditions issued by Met Office of heavy rain,” organiser Pete Batten said.
The Bike Nights have been battered by bad weather throughout 2012, with more than half of the events cancelled. Three out of seven planned events were cancelled due to severe weather warnings raising health and safety concerns.

Plymouth Bike Nights said they would like to thank all the motorcyclists who took part in the events during 2012.
“The final 2012 charity donations total from the local attending bikers of £2072.28 will be presented to the Help for Heroes and Afghan Heroes armed forces charities next month,” Pete Batten said.
