Plymouth Citybus invests in new double deckers
PLYMOUTH CITYBUS has invested in eight new "state of the art" double decker vehicles.
These will go into service alongside seven refurbished buses on the 21/21A and 26 routes.
The news came in the same week as an announcement that bus fares in Plymouth are set to rise by an average of 4.5 per cent.
Citybus says passengers will pay more from February 10 to cover the company's rising costs.

Managing director Richard Stevens said: "On average our fares will rise by 4.5 per cent but it is different for each ticket.
"We have not taken this decision lightly and believe we have kept the increase in price to a minimum.
"We really do value each and every one of our passengers and want to be completely honest and up front about the reasons why we've had to make this difficult decision."
Mr Stevens says the firm has been hit by Plymouth City Council budget cuts and rising fuel and insurance costs.
Citybus will open a new travel shop next month.
The shop will be located in Royal Parade, in a vacant store between Debenhams and House of Fraser, and will focus on the firm's tourism and holiday business.
It is set to open towards the end of February.

“Here we go again. I wonder how many fare increases Citybus have had since being sold by Viv Pengelly's Tories. It seems like at least two or three per year. We need competition on all bus routes to make them think twice before raising fares.”
