"But we are delighted to have the opportunity of staging the under-21 event, which will round off a full day with the practice still going ahead during the afternoon from 1pm to 4pm.

"The semi-final will feature the traditional 20 heats plus a semi-final and final. So that will be 22 races and we will get under way at 7pm, which should see us finish before our 9.30pm curfew."

British Youth co-boss Neil Vatcher said: "After weeks of uncertainty of finding a venue for this event, we are now excited about taking it to the Devon track.

"We know that Plymouth are a well-supported club, and would like to think that there will be a good turnout to support the British youngsters in this early-season fixture."

The under-21 meeting is an addition to the originally announced fixture list, and the Devils are still attempting arrange a challenge match on March 22 before tackling West Country rivals Somerset in a two-legged fixture the following weekend.
