It is the first time the annual Armada Cup has been staged at the state-of-the-art Life Centre.
Banks said: "It's great to be having the first Armada Cup at the new facility. There have been some open mouths from people who haven't been in the Life Centre before.
"The feedback has been good. There have been no hitches. All people have said is, 'Great facility; great event'."
