The Plymouth Gilbert and Sullivan Fellowship, now in its 90th year, is staging a sparkling new production of THE GONDOLIERS at the Devonport Playhouse, Plymouth

The gondolier brothers, Marco and Giuseppe, are played by Simon Prout and newcomer Dominic Thomas, with their partners Gianetta and Tessa played by Kim Willcocks, well-known to local audiences, and Laura Ilsley, until now the Fellowship’s accompanist but now in her first role as a singer with the company.

Gareth Davies plays Don Alhambra, while the Duke and Duchess of Plaza-Toro are played by Peter Clement and Gill Regan, with Anna Dunford as their daughter Casilda and Mark Sidey as their servant Luiz.

The company is noted for several NODA Regional Awards and appeared at the Buxton International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in 2010, winning awards for the Best Traditional Production and Best Male Voice.

THE GONDOLIERS is directed by Alan Spencer, with Jane Warwick conducting the professional orchestra.

The show runs April 9-13 at the Devonport Playhouse, Fore Street, Plymouth PL1 4DW, evenings at 7.30pm plus a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
