Plymouth Gypsy site plan – have your say
PEOPLE are being given another chance to have their say on proposed plans for a gypsy and traveller site on the outskirts of the city.
Plymouth City Council has announced it will be holding another Have Your Say meeting at Woolwell Community Centre on Tuesday evening to allow people to voice their opinions on the proposed Broadley Park Transit Gypsy and Traveller site.
A spokesperson for the council said: "It will be an opportunity for people to attend an evening meeting and a chance to engage as many people as possible."
So far plans for a transit site for travellers and Gypsies on council land at Broadley Park, near Roborough, have received mixed public reviews.

“Yeah right ..... yes please . Can we have travellers and all that comes with it in our area ? Just what the locals have been crying out for above all the problems they already have with just surviving for a living and being taxed to death already.
The very fact that they feel the p...taking need to ask this stupid question is beyond belief !.
These same idiotoc councilors should ring up their counterparts in Ireland and ask why they are not allowed there .... even though they already know the answer ,but due to PC are not allowed to state the truth in this godforsaken country anymore !.”

“Are any figures available to indicate whether crime, disruption and complaints go up whenever gypsies move into an area?
If it does, the police should oppose all traveller sites because it's their job to keep the peace”

“I would rather live near a traveller site than the incinerator that has been forced upon me.”

“Wherever any site is built is academic. They will still just rock-up when and where they please, grab everything that's going and finally move out leaving a pile of rubbish behind for the Tax Payers to clear up. I wonder if any so-called travellers will actually attend the meeting ?”

“Things look pretty cheap, can someone sell me a caravan on the new site in the future ? ? ?
I want to be an immobile traveller who has to pay naff-all towards societies costs.”

“There would be no objections if they were going to pay ground rate, council tax, utility bills and not leave the place in a mess when they move on but the chances of that are not very high.”
