PICTURES: Plymouth Respect Festival 2013 launched at new home
FLUTTERING confetti and the sound of samba drums filled the air at the launch of this year's Plymouth Respect Festival.
The annual event, which will be held on Saturday and Sunday October 13 and 14, is in its 16th year and will take a new form as it moves from The Guildhall to Plymouth University.

The theme this year is flying, which was reflected at the launch with models of butterflies and huge balloons.
Speakers included Chief Supt Andy Bickley and artistic director Dan Thompson.

Anne Wilkinson, from Plymouth and Devon Race Equality Council, the organisers of the festival, said: "Now in its teenage years, Respect is about to go to university.
"Symbolically we are moving to a new place in Plymouth which is remarkable in the current environment of austerity and cuts.
"This is our shared festival to showcase and celebrate our diversity."
