Plymouth Swallows fly high at county competition

PLYMOUTH Swallows gymnasts impressed at the Devon Club Championships.

The Derriford-based club took eight youngsters to the event and they returned home with a trio of top three overall placings and 11 apparatus placings.

At under-nine level, Libby Moor took silver overall and also came second on the bars and beam and third on the floor, while Coral Radford finished seventh overall.

In the under-10s, Maddy Negus took overall silver, while claiming gold in the bars and second on the beam.

Lizzie Bennett took overall bronze in the same category, while claiming second on the bars and third on the vault.

Leah White took third place on the floor and eighth overall, with Hannah Cadle 12th overall in a competitive age group.

Cody Powell-Tuckett took first place in the under-11 floor competition and sixth overall. Her team-mate Kenna Gosling took fifth place overall and third in the vault.
