Plymouth artist visits Primary school

A LOCAL artist dropped in on primary school pupils to help them with their Round the World in a Week project.

Youngsters from Wembury Primary School took part in a workshop with artist Helen Round as part of their project, focusing on global and environmental issues.

Helen helped pupils in Years 4, 5 and 6 to make books using recycled magazines and newspapers.

She also did screen printing with Years 1 and 2.

Headteacher Susie Evans said: "It gave the children enrichment beyond the normal curriculum.

"The project culminated in an art show with Yealmpton Primary School and Newton Ferrers Primary School.

"We were all part of the Ivybridge Learning Community and the funding for the project came through that; it was great."
