“@ BarryBT, perfectly safe is pushing it a bit, not as dangerous as some make out maybe, but perfectly safe? The report is about a guy who's been assaulted, it can't be perfectly safe. As for walking through Union Street at 3am, surely it's an individual's right to be able to, why you would is irrelevant but you should be able to. I would also point out that if it is perfectly safe, why are there security on the doors? Recent reports of incidents don't back up your claim. I stopped going years ago as it was on the downturn then and it's not recovered, it's even shrunk. There was a time when the street went all the way to The Phoenix and up to the Two Trees, it's half the size it was due to the changing popularity.”

“Unfortunately the software they use on C.S.I. doesn't work so well :)

It's poor because it's a still taken from a standard definition analogue video. Better cameras are available, but cost money.”

“Oh, and why is CCTV footage always so poor? Surely there is better technology than this to get clear images of offenders faces.”

“Why would you be walking through Union Street at 3am unless you are out clubbing? Union Street is perfectly safe, and you don't know of the circumstances. Don't tell me, you're another one of those moaners who has never step foot in the area but has the knowledge about it all. Oh, and before you start clicking the arrow, let me make it clear that anyone who does knows nothing of Union Street's night life.”

“Nice to know this part of the city is a no-go area to decent law abiding citizens in the hours of darkness, what are the Police doing about it?
Union street should be bulldozed to the ground, totally re-developed and Policed appropriately, i do not expect to feel unsafe walking at nighttime in my own city, this is unacceptable.”
