Plymouth to be battered by heavy rain
According to the Met Office, Plymouth will be hit by up to 30 hours of bad weather, staring around midnight tonight and continuing through till Saturday morning.
“Heavy rain is likely to move eastwards across southwest England this evening. With the ground already being almost saturated, the public should be aware of the risk of localised surface water flooding,” The Met Office warned.

According to the Met Office’s Chief Forecaster, a low pressure area is making its way up the Bristol Channel, meaning heavy and persistent rains amounting to 15 – 25 millimetres in some places.
The Met Office predicts that one area of heavy rain will move through the South West during the small hours of Friday followed by a spell of drier weather.

A further heavy, persistent rain looks likely to move through the area later on Friday into the early hours of Saturday.
Unfortunately, the bad weather might extend into Sunday and Monday, but the Met Office stresses that there is still considerable uncertainty over the details of the heavy rain.

“"...continuing through till Saturday morning". Till? What have cash registers got to do with it? Oh, you mean until, or 'til. When will they learn to spell?”
