“Where is Phil Redmond's baby Hollyoaks set? That city is also bidding. That city happens to be a stronger contender than Plymouth, IMHO!”

“Floella Benjamin has westcountry connections as Chancellor of Exeter University. Welsh National Opera has a long-standing working relationship with the Theatre Royal. In fact I can vividly remember one night when the WNO were in the city and quite a few of the singers were in the Dolphin - singing anything but opera - but they were brilliant.”

The Theatre Royal is great card to able to play in front of several of the judges although Redmond's sympathies may be elsewhere”

“Not a chance, more like 'UK City of Crumble'. Looks like Exeter have beaten us again with a new Ikea - That was a proposal turned down by PCC a few years ago. Lets not mention the Airport, what Airport!!”

“I suggest that Plymouth take careful note of what Phil Redmond says if they really want to become city of culture”
