A MAN accused of burgling a Honicknowle church has appeared before magistrates.

Steven Ready, aged 31, faces one charge of burglary following the incident at St Francis of Assisi church in Little Dock Lane on October 18.

The building suffered a smashed rear window, while a number of candlestick holders made of brass and donation money for remembrance candles were taken.

Ready, of Greenbank Avenue, Plymouth, appeared at Plymouth Magistrates Court on Monday to face the burglary charge as well as one count of robbery and one count of failing to answer bail. He was remanded into custody and will return to the Magistrates court on November 19 for a committal hearing on the burglary charge and on November 26 at Plymouth Crown Court for the robbery charge.
