Plymouth drama group given helping hand from Comic Relief
THE ALL Stars Theatre Group is giving adults with learning disabilities the confidence and skills to enjoy life.
Run by husband and wife team David and Jan Halifax, it has fast become a social hub for the people who rely on the fun workshops.
In 2011 Comic Relief stepped in to hand over a grant which was used for premises and to pay for props and other bits and bobs.
The group relies on charity grants and generosity for its survival.

David explained: "We act out situations that people come across in everyday life.
"Things like popping to the bank or the shop can be quite scary for a person with a learning disability.
"We also teach them how to react in a situation where they are being abused in the street.
"It's teaching life skills in a fun and easy way to understand way."
The All Stars put on a show for the public twice a year which helps generate revenue to keep the Saturday sessions up and running.
David explained: "The Devon Community Foundation has been absolutely brilliant."
The Comic Relief grant has opened up various projects, one of which is called Star Skills, which is run solely by volunteers who are acting mentors, which teaches people new skills and improves communication skills.
They are still looking for volunteers today to help expand on this project.
All Stars are also aiming to create a DVD about their charity
The Herald has teamed up with Comic Relief and the Devon Community Foundation to dish out £50,000 to deserving causes in Plymouth from the Red Nose Day Community Cash Fund.
We want to hear from any group which benefits the community and feels it could be boosted by a grant of up to £1,000.
