Plymouth firefighters called to arson fires on Dartmoor
Firefighters from Plympton were called to tackle a gorse fire on Dartmoor this evening which they believe was started on deliberately.
Watch Manager Watkin said that firefighters were called at 6:45pm to assist Yelverton fire service in putting out a fire on the moors near Trowlesworthy Warren.
He said they used beaters to overcome the fire. The watch manager stated that the cause of the fire, which spread over an acre and a half, was "probably arson".
It took the two crews an hour to totally extinguish the burning grass.
