Plymouth flat fire suspicious, say police
Police are investigating a suspicious property fire which occured during the early hours in Plymouth.
Two fire crews, one from Crownhill and one from Camels Head, were called to Taunton Avenue in Whitleigh at 3:18am today.

Firefighters found a fire in a doorway of a first floor flat involving a mattress.
The blaze damaged the hallway and front door but nobody was injured.

Police say nobody was in the property at the time of the fire.
Crews used one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire, and ventilated the property.
Police were at the scene until 5am today and say they are treating the incident as suspected arson.
