Plymouth man in court after allegedly making nine nuisance 999 calls

A 52-year-old man is due to appear before Plymouth Magistrates this morning charged with making nuisance telephone calls.

Steven Chown was arrested after nine telephone calls were made to the police via the 999 system between 10:50pm on Tuesday and 12:45am yesterday, Wednesday reporting various crimes.

Officers attended and arrested the suspect near to the Cuba nightclub in North Hill.

He was interviewed before being charged and kept in custody overnight.
