A MAN has appeared at court charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Lee Thomas Bates, from Landford Place, Liverpool, was arrested last May as part of an investigation into the supply of heroin and cocaine into Plymouth, entitled Operation Rio.

The investigation has seen a number of men and women from the South West and Liverpool arrested and charged with similar offences.

Bates, aged 30, was charged on Tuesday with the offence of conspiring with others to supply class A drugs and his case was sent to Plymouth Crown court for a preliminary hearing on February 25. He was granted unconditional bail.
