Get your Plymouth news delivered via email every day
WITH so much going on in the world it can be hard to keep up – so The Herald has a simple solution, a free, bite-sized daily email highlighting what you need to know.
You can have a daily email newsletter sent to you each morning simply by registering on thisisplymouth.co.uk and ticking the box for 'send me a newsletter from this site'.
Each day you will then be sent one email with the top news stories of the day, the top sports stories of the day, the latest events listings and a snapshot of new pictures Herald users have uploaded to the site.
The email also includes direct links to the news, sport, entertainment and picture sections of the thisisplymouth.co.uk site.
And you will get the latest voucher offers – specific to Plymouth – giving you things such as 20 per cent off a meal at a local restaurant, or free fitness lessons.
Digital publisher for The Herald and thisisplymouth, Neil Shaw, said: "There are a lot of ways to get your news, and a lot of information comes your way every day, so it is really useful to have one email that highlights the top news, sport and entertainment in Plymouth for the day in a simple, bite-size format.
"The fact it is free and comes with Plymouth discount vouchers attached is an added bonus."
If you are not registered with the site, go to www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/register and fill in your details.
At the bottom of the registration form, just above the button to submit your information, are three tick boxes.
Make sure the top one, 'send me newsletter from this site' is ticked if you want your free daily update.
You can choose to tick or uncheck the two other boxes to opt in or out of the other emails sent out – which include commercial offers, company updates and information about the latest promotions.
If you are already registered but don't yet get the daily email, log in to your account using the link at the top of thisisplymouth.co.uk that says 'login'.
When you are logged in, that link at the top is replaced by one saying 'My Profile'.
Click that, then click 'Edit my profile' under your profile picture and at the bottom of the page you will find links for Notifications – where you can tick to get the newsletter – then hit 'save profile'.
Registration also has other advantages – including allowing you to comment on articles or upload your own stories and pictures to the site.
