Plymouth nurseries get grant for miracle egg incubators.
KIDS at Jack 'n' Jill's nurseries across Plymouth have received a grant of £875 from The Plymouth Drake Foundation and Seafarers UK to fund an egg hatching project in the run up to Easter.
The childcare group, part of the Royal Naval Pre-School Learning Organisation, have seven separate units across the city and provide childcare and respite to both service and civilian families.
They also provide a valuable service in that parents at home during times of deployment can engage and socialise with other service and non-service families in a friendly and supportive environment.
They applied to Plymouth Drake Foundation for a Seafarers UK grant to purchase seven separate egg hatching units to enable the youngest children to witness and learn about the miracle of eggs hatching.

After they have hatched, the chicks will be kept within the childcare settings and the children will then get to learn how to look after the chicks and to understand the technology and science with incubation.
Arthur Ainslie, chair of The Plymouth Drake Foundation said: "We are delighted to be able to support this project with a grant from Seafarers UK.
"Large numbers of children from service and civilian families will benefit from this most creative and thoughtful of projects across seven separate childcare centres."
