The Ship Inn (formerly known as the Watering Hole) has reopened on the Barbican.

The St Austell Brewery pub is being taken right back to its roots with the Ship Inn being its original name.

As with every St Austell Brewery pub, the Brewery's award-winning range of ales will be available and naturally with a pub located so close to the water, the newly launched menu will specialise in locally caught fish and seafood, and will also feature traditional fresh pies.

“This pub burnt down in interesting circumstances. Then it was reopened with a ham name. Now a regional brewery hopes to resurrect it using the old name. But it is just one of half a dozen boozers in a row beside those Chav pens along the quay. No reason to go back just because of the correction of the name. So many better places to drink round there.”
