Plymouth's City College holds annual technology opportunities day
City College Plymouth is holding its annual Technology Opportunities Open Day on Saturday 25 February at its Kings Road site in Devonport from 10.00am -1.00pm.
The open day, which is being supported by the Plymouth Construction Training Group, will play host to a number of local companies who are exhibiting at the event to advertise their Apprenticeship vacancies. Babcock, Princess Yachts, Pipex, Interserve Construction Services and the Engineering Development Trust are just some of the companies who will be on-hand to talk to visitors about career opportunities within the construction, engineering, and computing and games studies industries.
College staff will be conducting structured presentations on course content and will be on-hand to answer any queries regarding courses and provide impartial careers advice and guidance. Visitors will be able to view the College’s industry-standard facilities, including the ABB Energy Centre, which is one of the leading training centres in the South West for renewable energy and construction education.
College Principal, Phil Davies, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for prospective students to visit the College and find out about the opportunities available. Some of Plymouth’s leading employers will be on-hand to discuss their Apprenticeship vacancies in engineering and construction, alongside our award-winning Work-based Learning team.”
The success of apprentices with City College Plymouth is outstanding, at 14% above the national benchmark. The South West is the highest performing region for apprentices, and the College - with nearly 1,000 apprentices - is the highest performing provider in the South West.
