"During the Polar days children have been experiencing a variety of activities from dressing up as an explorer, listening and watching expedition recounts, learning about the community of Batham Island and finding out how seals keep warm."

Bella Jones, a Year 5 pupil at the school, said: "I enjoyed making blubber gloves and planning a pretend expedition."

Mrs Bartram added: "The children are inspired by Scott of the Antarctic and he is regarded by our school as a local historical figure.

"Anthony and Oli keep the passion for exploration alive and enable the pupils to know that they can dream big and aspire to be more."
