Plymouth students take to the stage for a school production of Grease

STUDENTS dusted off their leather jackets and pulled on their bobby-socks as they performed a school production of hit musical Grease.

Pupils from Plymouth High School for Girls took on the roles of the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies as they sang well known songs 'Greased Lightnin'' and 'You're The One That I Want'.

Students Milly Smerdon and Mel Brown, two of the main performers, said: "It's been a long and, at times, difficult journey, but it has all been pulled together at the end!"

There were a variety of sets to make the show a success and a number of dance routines.

Three teachers contributed to one of the scenes playing the 'Angels'.

Also Mr Osborne, head of music in the production from Plymouth High School for girls, sang 'Beauty School Drop Out'.

Grease is a 1978 American musical film where characters Danny Zucco, played by John Travolta, and vacationing Sandy Olsen, played by Olivia Newton-John, meet at the beach and fall in love.
