Plymouth victims of domestic abuse urged to look for help on Valentine's Day
VICTIMS of domestic abuse will be encouraged to seek out help this coming Valentine's Day.
Staff from the Plymouth Domestic Abuse Service (PDAS) will be manning a stall offering information and support on February 14, from 9am to 5pm in the Place de Brest in Armada Way.
The event comes as Devon and Cornwall Police figures show how 29.5 percent of all violent crime with injury consists of incidents of domestic abuse, accounting for 26,149 incidents covering January 2012 to the end of January this year.
Katy Bradshaw, of Sanctuary Supported Living, which runs PDAS, said: "These figures show just how prevalent domestic abuse still is and can be explained by the wide range of forms domestic abuse takes, from physical and sexual to financial and emotional.
