Plymouth woman in wet T-shirt fundraiser
A PLYMOUTH glamour girl is staging a wet tee-shirt contest with a difference as part of her bid to become Miss Plymouth 2010.
Jenna Horgan from Hartley is one of 20 girls hoping to take the title and go on to the finals of Miss England.
In addition to gathering text and phone votes, each contestant has to stage an activity raising money for the Variety Club of Great Britain, a showbiz charity which helps sick, disabled and disadvantaged children.
Jenna has recruited eight of her friends, including models and fellow students at the University of Plymouth.
But this will be a wet tee-shirt competition unlike any other.
All the girls will wear bras or bikinis tops under their tee-shirts.
And guests will vote for the girl they want to see soaked by putting money in her collecting bucket.
At the end of the evening, the girl with the most money gets wet – although Jenna predicts the others are unlikely to stay dry for long!
The contest runs from 9pm-12.30 on Thursday, January 28 at the Ride bar off North Hill.
Admission is by donation and Jenna hopes to raise £1,000.
To get through to the Miss Plymouth semi-finals, she needs to finish in the top six.
To vote for her, visit the Miss England website.
You can text Jenna Horgan to 84205 or phone 0901 6561504 and enter '07' when prompted.
Calls cost 60p plus the standard network charge.

“Im in the miss plymouth competition too... i want to help raise money for the charity but i couldnt go about it this way.
I want to get to the finals because i lack in confidence and i think it would be nice for someone of an average size to stand a chance... I think it would encourage others who have body issues and no self belief to believe in themselves and understand that beauty in on the inside and outside.

“I think that allowing the girls to have the bras on underneath shows how un-degrading it is... the girls will feel more comfortable and will be having fun whilst raising money for a good cause. I think Jenna is truly beautiful and has had a really good intuitive idea to help raise money for charity. GOOD ON YOU GIRLS”

“Good on you girls, using initiative to get punters in to get more money for disabled children. Its not degrading if they are wearing bikini tops underneath, its clever. Raising more money for the children. You get my vote!!!”

“Degrading? They want to do it. No one is forcing them.
Besides its no more degrading than seeing some of the messes that bimble up and down plymouth on a friday and saturday night and we read about them often enough.
Least she and her mates are doing it for a good cause!”
