Police called after sound of explosion on Plymouth railway bridge

POLICE were called to the Brunel Rail Bridge last night following reports of an explosion and debris falling.

Two members of the public on the Saltash side of the bridge reported the incident at around 8pm.

After an inspection a high pressure air line was found to have ruptured which caused a loud bang.

A police spokesperson said: “No one was injured and there was no danger at any time.
