Police inquiry into caravan arson in field near Plymouth
A CARAVAN was "completely destroyed" by fire after arsonists targeted the vehicle, it was believed.
Police were investigating an incident of arson at Lee Moor after two fire crews were called to a field near Newnham Clay Works at 8.15pm on Thursday where a caravan was engulfed in flames.
Watch manager Peter Tobin, at Plympton fire station, said 10 fire fighters, including a crew from Ivybridge, spent 30 minutes putting out the blaze with hose reels.
They also used thermal imaging cameras to check no-one was inside and for gas cylinders.

“Is it coincidence that, just days after some intolerant maniac pops up on these pages advocating arson against the travellers in Central Park, a caravan in a field is set on fire?
If I were the senior officer investigating this crime, I might want to contact the Herald and trace the poster of that particular comment, along with those who green-arrowed his stupid, dangerous and criminal idea.”
