Police investigate 'dog bites' as woman found with face and leg injuries

POLICE are investigating how a woman suffered suspected dog bites after she was found in Stoke.

Paramedics were called to flats in Healy Place at around 2am yesterday by a woman suffering facial injuries as well as what appeared to be dog bites to her thigh.

The woman, understood to be in her late 30s, was treated at the scene before being taken to Derriford Hospital where she underwent surgery.

A man was later arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm allegedly using a dog as a weapon.
