POLICE are still appealing for people who used a Lipson park on the night of a serious sexual assault on a young woman to come forward.

The victim, aged 21, was in Freedom Fields Park in the early hours of Sunday when she was attacked.

Officers from Plymouth's Major Crime Investigation Team, who are heading the manhunt, are keen to hear from anybody who was in the park between 10.30pm and 3am on Saturday night.

Detective Sergeant Mick Woodland, deputy senior investigating officer, said a number of people have responded to police appeals.

He said: "Some people have come forward saying they were in the park at different times during the period we're looking at. We are gradually working our way through those statements, but we do want to hear from anyone who was in the park that night."

Investigators say the man is of a "fat" build with chubby hands and a large round face. He has quite dark short stubbly hair, about half an inch long.

He was wearing a T-shirt top or shirt which had a number of buttons down the front, blue jeans and large construction boots.

The victim believes the man was aged between 25 and 40 and was between 5ft 6in and 6ft tall.
