A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The body was found hanging from a tree and formal identification is expected to be carried out early next week."

Police are making enquiries into the circumstances and a report has been handed to the Coroner, but an inquest has not yet been opened.

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, police said.

Jamie was last seen last on Friday, January 4, after having a lunchtime drink with friends after work at the Abbey Inn pub in Buckfastleigh.

He was then dropped off in Ivybridge at about 1.30pm to 2pm.

The youngster has not been seen or heard from since that time.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said at the time of his disappearance: "This is out of character for Jamie and we are keen to locate him or know that he's safe."
