Post Office gets facelift and new opening hours
A FACELIFT is to be given to a coastal town's Post Office as part of a national scheme to prevent the further closure of branches.
Trading hours are to be doubled at the Barbican Post Office in Looe and the store will now open on Sundays.
The branch, at Barbican Parade, will be modernised to an open plan style and serve as a convenience store as well as offering the usual postal services.
New opening hours will see the branch open from 7.30am to 9pm, Monday to Saturday, and closing an hour earlier on Sundays.

The Barbican Post Office will no longer close at lunchtime.
The changes come as part of a government initiative to safeguard the number of Post Offices nationally.
Public money has been granted to pay for extended working hours and to help maintain the current network of Post Offices.
The Barbican branch will close for refurbishment on February 9 at 12.30pm and will reopen on February 19. Customers should use the nearby stores on Fore Street and the Nomansland branch in Looe during this period.
