Eoin McCarthy, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said the allegation was that she had taken various amounts of money at different times.

The thefts are alleged to have taken place over seven months.

District Judge Diana Baker ruled the case could be heard at the city's Magistrates' Court.

Edgar was released on unconditional bail to return to the court on February 13.

Discussions will take place between the prosecution and the defence.
