Pupil announced as winner of Plymouth school creative writing competition
THE winner of a creative writing competition has been revealed.
The modern foreign languages department at Coombe Dean School in Elburton runs an annual creative writing competition.
This year a variety of local businesses offered their support in prizes for the winners.
Brittany Ferries donated a £200 travel voucher to the overall winner. There were also dining vouchers from Chloe's Restaurant, Cafe Rouge and Riverbank in Ivybridge.

Liz Cranstone, from Coombe Dean School, said: "The large number of prizes rewarded the incredible quality of this year's entries.
"The modern foreign language department wishes to thank all business for their amazing generosity which reflects their encouragement and support for the studying of languages."
After studying authentic children's books in French or German, Year 9 students were given the opportunity to apply their creative writing skills in the foreign language.
They were set the challenge to create their own storybooks including writing the story line, drawing the pictures and designing the overall appearance of their book.
The theme was 'an original Christmas story' aimed at young children.
All entries were assessed on the quality of the presentation and language as well as the originality of the story.
The judges selected 20 winners who each received the prizes.
The top prize of a £200 travel voucher went to 13-year-old Ellen McGirr.
The runner-up, Nadia Roberts, will be treated to dinner at Chloe's restaurant.
And all other winners will enjoy food from Cafe Rouge and Riverbank Cafe, a shopping experience at Parade Antiques or a range of goodies from BMW.
The prizes were presented during a special assembly held by headteacher Pattrick Frean, Key Stage 3 leader Jacqui Spencer and teachers from the modern foreign languages department.
