Pupils' lavender fundraiser for cancer charity
Kind-hearted people are being urged to contribute lavender in an unusual bid to raise money for Leukaemia Research.
Children at Bishop's Cornish School in Saltash are planning to make and sell lavender bags to help raise funds for the charity – inspired by a four-year-old leukaemia patient they have never met.

The pupils are asking people to send in lavender flower heads from their gardens to help make the bags.
The appeal comes as Leti Pugsley – the granddaughter of the South East Cornwall school's headteacher Jenny Thomas – continues her recovery from this rare form of cancer.

Leti has acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
Although she is English, Leti and her family live on Lake Como, Italy, where her father Martin Pugsley works.
Leti's case of leukaemia has been treated in Italy since October 2009 with a protocol used throughout Europe – and pioneered with the help of Leukaemia Research in the UK.
Mrs Thomas believes that her granddaughter would not be on the road to recovery had it not been for the fundraising efforts of previous generations.
She said: "If it wasn't for all the cakes that were baked, the coffee mornings and the jam that was made, Leti wouldn't be alive today."
Leti has now completed eight months of intensive treatment and has another 16 months of treatment to go.
"It costs about £80,000 to cure a child with leukaemia, and we feel it is now time to give something back," said Leti's mother Katherine Pugsley, who grew up in Plympton Saint Maurice in Devon.
"Had it not been for all the cakes baked, marathons run and mountains climbed to raise funds for Leukaemia Research she might not have even made it this far."
