FIRMS will tee off in a golf match to raise cash for Plymouth charities next month.

City removal and storage company Hackworthy & Sons is now sponsoring the Plymouth Area Property Professionals Association (PAPPA), for the next three years, and the deal starts with PAPPA's annual Charity Golf Day on Friday, June 22.

The event takes place, for a second year running, at St Mellion International Resort.

It starts with a contest on The Kernow Course and continues with a black-tie dinner with entertainment from rising comic talent Terry Alderton and St Mellion's resident DJ.

Proceeds will be split between Plymouth charities Horizon, a children's sailing organisation, and Friends and Families of Special Children Ltd, which provides support, information and services to families of children with special needs.

James Clarke, PAPPA president and director at Lang & Co, said: "We are looking forward to working with the Hackworthy team for the benefit of great charitable initiatives."

Reg Hackworthy, director at Hackworthy & Sons, said: "We're excited about participating in the up-coming Charity Golf Day and hope the event is a success for two excellent charities."
