Mark Weymouth, for Woodland Fort B, is really too good for Division Two, shown by his 100 per cent record. He has won the majority of his matches in straight sets. BREWIN DOLPHIN MANNAMEAD WINTER TENNIS LEAGUE

THE adverse weather conditions in the first half of the 2012/2013 season have meant that very few pairs are up to date with their fixtures.

Some pairs have only played just over 50 per cent of their matches and are set for a busy time in the early months of 2013.

In the men's Division A, Phil Harbottle and Phil Ruse are the only pair to have played all of their matches and have a 38-point lead over Neil Hunt and Simon Yeo, who have played two matches fewer.

In third place, two points behind after five matches, are Simon Prout and Matt Green, who have dropped only two points.

Division B shows Kevin Thomas and Jamie Stephenson clear leaders with 116 points from six matches. Three pairs, Yuen Sui and Declan O'Connell, Chris Shorter and Phil Ticehurst, Paul Matthews and Simon Dusting are locked together 18 points behind, with Matthews and Dusting having a match in hand.

Two pairs in Division C are unbeaten, with just one set dropped in 14 matches. Paul Bradley and Matt Smith have a 100 per cent record of 161 points from seven matches and Matt Adams and Matt Harris total 160 points from seven. In third place are Mike Madden and Jason Holland on 146 points.

The ladies' Division A is led by Luisa Warring and Lyn Helliwell, who have played all their eight matches to total 165 points. Alison Diver and Linda Trebilcock are second, a point ahead of Joy Pellow and Sue Peers-Jones.

The champions, Michelle Cooke and Liz Morley, have only been on court on five occasions but they could still be favourites for the top spot. Jean Smith and Liz Gill are almost out of sight in Division B, 42 points ahead of Jean Humphries and Lynne Macfarlane.

Most matches have been played in the mixed doubles, with Richard Avent and Jenny Snell in first place on 147 points. With Snell now out for the season after her knee operation, Avent will need a new partner for the remainder of his matches.

Simon Dusting and Hannah Odam are second with 112 points, followed by Andrew Leigh and Esther Pettit on 111 points with a match in hand.
