Raiders Academy boss Jay Marriott said: "There were some real highlights.

"Big-man David Mockaitis had a two-handed dunk; guard Sam Hockaday stole the ball and made Mike Ojo look stuck to the ground, when he took off for an emphatic dunk.

"It was a special moment and even had the opposite bench on their feet."

Marriott added: "After two strong performances now we will have a bullseye on our back and get the best of every team we play.

"We're starting to really hit form in all competitions, but we must continue to be hungry to improve even more.

"Every player understands the importance of hard work and focus. Tomorrow is a new day."

Plymouth Raiders Academy...85 UCP Marjon...43

RAIDERS' BBL stars were court-side to watch the club's Academy team dominate UCP Marjon in a friendly.

Jason Carr and Jordan Blount led the Academy with 25 and 24 points respectively backed by Ryan Peard, who had 13.

Raiders Academy boss Jay Marriott had wanted to test his prospects against tough opposition and after a close first quarter, his players responded to the challenge. Marjon's Sean Porter hit five three-pointers before Peard clamped down on him on defence.

Marriott said: "It was amazing to see the club's BBL players come along and support what we are doing. It gave our players an extra lift."

Marriott added: "We thank Marjon for the game and wish them well this season."

Plymouth Raiders Academy II...73 Plymstock...65

PLYMOUTH Raiders Academy shocked under-19 city school league title favourites Plymstock 73-65.

Academy captain and guard Charles Connaris scored a game-high 33 points.

Academy were rocked by an early injury to forward Sean Bowden (fractured foot).

Raiders Academy boss Jay Marriott said: "What a fantastic result."
