Raiders coach passes on tips to the next generation
MARJON Plymouth Raiders boss Gavin Love enjoyed time off from his main job to coach the city's next generation of players.
Love and Raiders players Michael Ojo and Andreas Schreiber took a special basketball master class at City College Plymouth.
Forty students, aged 14 to 16, from four schools – Tavistock College, Stoke Damerel Community College, St Boniface's Catholic College and City College – attended.
Raiders, since Love took charge in the summer of 2010, have done pre-season every year at City College.

City College strength and conditioning lecturer and coach Charlie Legg has taken Raiders' training.
"We obviously do a lot of work with City College," said Love. "We're just looking to give something back and as much as we can."
Love added of the master class: "It was a great day. We had four schools there and did strength and conditioning work, and we had a mini tournament at the end of the day.
"I was really impressed. There were three or four kids who were really good and could have a future in basketball.
"It was good to see those schools interact and encourage each other. It was a really good atmosphere. I enjoyed it.
"When you've got a group of enthusiastic kids, how can you not? They were a great bunch.
"There were some guys who hadn't played basketball before. It was just a fun day."
The students enjoyed the chance to listen to and learn from top young players like Ojo and Schreiber.
"It was good for those guys to meet Mike and Andreas, and see what they do," said Love. "And it's good for Mike and Andreas to give something back."
Love enjoyed the chance to coach young players, who are a blank canvass compared to Raiders' BBL professionals.
"It's nice to take your mind off the (Raiders') first team," said Love. "I had a good afternoon. Stress-free!"
