Raiders are outgunned
GAVIN LOVE was philosophical following Marjon Plymouth Raiders' heavy, 17-point defeat to defending BBL champions Newcastle Eagles.
Eagles left the Pavilions yesterday with a 96-79 win after Raiders had edged Surrey Heat 91-89 on Saturday night.
Raiders are fourth in the 12-strong standings after the weekend, but have a lot of work to do if they are to truly challenge powerhouses like Eagles come the play-offs in April.
Raiders coach Love said of the weekend: "Defensively we were better, but how many offensive rebounds did we allow Newcastle? It was ridiculous. That's guys just not rebounding the ball and Newcastle wanting it more. Basics."

Love added: "Newcastle hit big shots in big moments, so I'm not too down about it.
"We played well over the weekend, but it was disappointing not to be there or thereabouts at the end of today's game."
Eagles led Raiders commandingly by as many as 22 points, 89-67 in the middle of yesterday's fourth quarter.
