Return of the mac
Thought summer was all about shorts and bikins? Think again. Brollies, wellies and macs are what we're wearing as the weather remains predictably 'unsettled'.
To cheer us up, Her decided to track down some of the most stylish wet weather gear to be modelled by our two new Faces of Plymouth, Paul Nicholson and Hayley Morse.

And what better way to celebrate the arrival of musical Singing in the Rain at the Theatre Royal...
THERE'S a simple truth about fashion: It's really hard to look good when it's windy and raining. But with a little preparation, you can not only be warm and snug in your wet weather gear but you can also look pretty stylish.
To prove the point we visited Millets in New George Street – not exactly known for high-end fashion but rightly famed for selling practical gear.
The results were pretty amazing: Brightly coloured macs, the most amazing patterned wellies; well-cut over trousers and stylish hats.
The shop has a selection of rainwear, including its own Peter Storm brand, as well as Sprayway, The North Face and Berghaus, among others.
Wellies come in a selection to leave any festival-goer spoilt for choice. Our favourites had to be the Peter Storm black wellies with white rock guitar pattern.
Faces of Plymouth Paul Nicholson and Hayley Morse were the perfect models for our chosen rainwear.
Their outfits were set off with splendour by a selection of umbrellas from a new designer based in Cawsand.
Tricia Stubberfield has returned to her Cornish home to set up the business after working as a designer in London.
She sells her Um...brellas, which come in a range of prints and designs, on the internet and at festivals.
Her quirky designs include 'squiddle', a medley of squid, octopuss and cuttlefish and 'old woman and sticks', which she says is a Welsh take on the saying 'raining cats and dogs'.
Our pictures were taken in the formal gardens on the Hoe which are being prepared for the arrival of the Britain in Bloom judges tomorrow.
Plymouth stands a good chance of being named the best city in Britain in the Royal Horticultural Society Competition.
Face winner Paul said: "I already know Plymouth is blooming great but with gardens like these it also deserves to win the official title."
While our chosen raingear was a little more modern, the outfits we chose for Paul and Hayley were inspired by the arrival of the smash musical Singing in the Rain at the Theatre Royal from August 25. Hayley said: "I love the show and the outfits they wear are great. But these ones are little bit better for 2009."
